Gail Altschuler has had an ongoing passion for contemporary ceramics and she is influenced by ceramic artists like Elizabeth Fritsch and Felicity Ayliff. She also allows her love of jazz music, textiles and pattern to infiltrate her products. Of her work, she says;
“I want the plasticity of the clay or porcelain to be evident and the makers hand to be revealed”.
Originally from South Africa, Gail has a kiln at her home and studio in London, where she puts her painting and printing skills to good use on clay. Besides making her own work, she teaches to children and adults.
