Angela Chidgey was born in London and attended Kingston and Putney Schools of Art.
She has had many exhibitions, one recently raising money for The Amboseli Trust for Elephants to buy radio collars. Angela has also illustrated two books; one being a children’s book set in. Kenya.
Thirty years ago, visiting Kenya for the first time on a camel safari, she decided that she had to ‘paint Africa’ and has been doing so ever since. Angela is fascinated by the trees, the landscape and the wildlife, especially elephants.
Angela works in all sorts of media, but is currently captivated by pastels. She fills sketch books with paintings of leaves and flowers found on walks through the bush, and later paints them on canvas, paper and ceramics. She is also working on a book called “A Painter`s Journey through East Africa”.
