Yvette was born in 1969 and grew up in Bloemfontein.
She studied architecture, and after her studies she moved to Cape Town where she worked as an architect in training. She was in the profession for 10 years, but after her children were born, she found the demands of the architectural and building industry too much and decided to take up art again.
“I have always loved art and have been drawing and painting since I was a child. I work mainly in oils with a palette knife. I love thick impasto work.”
Texture is paramount to Yvette and her canvases virtually ooze paint. Her flowers are her speciality.
Yvette lives with her family in Cape Town but loves travelling and visiting Europe in particular where she is inspired by the wealth of art and galleries at her disposal.
