In 1993 he began to learn stone sculpture under the supervision of his brother Morgan Chijumani. Morgan was taught by their late father, who was also a sculptor, based in Chimanimani.
Edmore’s trademark is fish and he usually works in colourful fruit serpentine or purple cobalt stone. His sculptures are very recognisable and are becoming very collectable as his work is included in more international exhibitions.
Edmore’s work was part of a group exhibition of Zimbabwean sculpture entitled ‘Dialogue in Stone’ held at Centre Island, Toronto, Canada in 2006 organised by the Talking Stones Gallery.
He was also included in a group exhibition held in Delaware, Pennsylvania, USA in September 2006, which featured Dominic Benhura and Richard Mteki amongst others.
