Description
framed original elephant oil painting, 215 x 340 mm, by award-winning Kenyan artist Karen Laurence-Rowe
Tim is one of Kenya’s last big Tuskers whose main range is Amboseli National Park! He is enormous and a little naughty! As the elephant roaming grounds get squeezed smaller and smaller by human encroachment he has a tendency to sneak into the surrounding farms and raid the crops. Tim has been treated for several arrow wounds and it is a constant worry for conservationists that the next time he is involved in human/elephant conflict, his wounds may be serious and untreatable -which would be a tragedy. This small artwork is a pre-cursor to a much larger artwork that I will paint in the coming months. This is one elephant which needs to be preserved in paint.
