Description
“The colours of this beaded ‘tusk’ are synonymous with the traditional Samburu nation and it was created by the women of The Samburu Trust. It is a cooperative located in northern Kenya and provides income for many women and their families. I commissioned this piece after a visit to the Samburu region and am in awe of the beading skill shown in this piece. The wildlife education programme and conscious interacting with the land that is being fostered is a strong reminder to me of the need for a rethink of how we will protect wildlife within the needs of an expanding population and climate issues. (All profit from this piece will be donated back to The Samburu Trust).”
