As activity in the gallery intensifies with cleaning, moving, hanging and displaying, it is time to formally invite you to attend our forthcoming exhibition which is open next month. We have so much new ‘freshly foraged’ work to share with you, and as always, the challenge now is to curate and bring it all together in a cohesive, co-ordinated story.
The featured painting on this invitation is by a long-standing favourite of the gallery, Jenny Parsons from the Cape in South Africa. Jenny has recently taken a studio in the heart of the Mother City, providing her with abundant material for her large linear and urban landscapes. But she still works ‘en plein air’ too and loves the natural flora and scenery for which the region is famed. Her series of pastels on this exhibition are available to view online by clicking on her name.
By chance, our summer exhibition this year coincides with Bucks Art Weeks. Whilst we are not officially part of the programme, we know many of you will be out viewing the array of art available in the county, so urge you to drop in on us too. Likewise, we will encourage our visitors to see more of what’s on locally and for ease of reference have included a link here to Bucks Art Weeks.
As this exhibition takes shape, new work is constantly being added to our website www.fillingdon.com and one can purchase directly online at any stage – we are great for gifts and very happy to pack and post.
Please forward this invitation to anyone you think may like what we do but not yet know of us, and email [email protected] if you have any enquiries. See you next month!
