Cape artist Liz Robertson happily admits to being obsessed with light and colour, and the magic created in their interplay. “Capturing the delicate lilac shadow cast by an lemon, or the rainbow highlight in a glass of flowers on a windowsill makes my heart sing.” This featured painting of lush, rich, red tomatoes is an apt example of her textured oil painting, and the other two pieces we have by her on this show can be viewed here. We are delighted to have Liz here in person on Friday 5th April to give a brief talk about her work and answer any questions.
We anticipate this being a popular event and spaces will be limited so please email directly to [email protected] if you would like to attend. As the talk will be at the gallery, all attendees will be welcome to preview the exhibition as well, which officially opens the following day.
“A Thing of Beauty” is a actually gathering of many things of beauty – paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery and crafts, all individual and created with an artist’s eye. The exhibition will be open daily, 10am to 4pm, from 6th to 19th April.
Details and work are on our website www.fillingdon.com and purchases can be made online at any time. We are happy to pack and post.
Please forward this email to anyone who does not yet know of us, but may appreciate the quality of the original and diverse work we show. Thank you.
