Description
Award winning wildlife artist, Julia Cassels, is never more at home than en plein air in the African bush, sketchbook in hand with wildlife in the landscape in front of her. This majestic male cheetah is captured by Julia in the Kafue National Park in Zambia and is painted on Nepalese Khadi paper, and framed with the edges exposed. Khadi paper is an 100% handmade cotton rag paper. It is made from recycled t-shirts in Nepal and India and comes in various weights. Generally, it is the Indian Khadi Paper which is often made incorporating flower petals, whereas the Nepalese Khadi paper is plain. On another note, Julia acknowledges that using her art for wildlife conservation has become important and integral part of her work, and most of all a privilege.
