Despite there being no tigers in Africa, we have chosen this iconic mammal to anchor the title of this show, because it highlights the issues of endangered wildlife like no other. Martin Aveling is a signature member of Artists For Conservation and this flagship painting won the Environmental Artivism category at the prestigious David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Awards in London in 2024. Using Blake’s well-known phrase from his poem references not only our two tiger paintings on this show, but also the whole blaze of colour and energy generated from an abundance of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery and craft created by over 100 artists.
