This last weekend saw the opening of the G & W Mineral Resources Regional Ceramics Exhibition in Johannesburg. All exhibitors are members of the Gauteng Region of Ceramics Southern Africa. They included the wonderfully talented group who hosted me for a day in March; in fact the studio where we met belongs to the current Gauteng Regional Chairperson, Colleen Lehmkuhl. 
Obviously I am unable to attend the show, as I am running our own exhibition in UK at present, but if anyone reading this blog is able to get down to MuseuMAfricA before 22nd June, I would strongly advise it. You will see world-class work on display there, the images of which have have me salivating even from this distance. 
I am delighted to learn, that the overall Ndebele Milling & Mining Premier Award went to Eunice Botes; the runner-up Glazecor award to Dale Lambert; and the Ultra-Furn prize to Sandy Godwin; while Highly Commended certificates were awarded to Christine Williams and Colleen Lehmkuhl. My heartiest congratulations go out to these worthy winners.
And I am even more delighted to confirm that we have work by all these five award-winning ceramicists on our current exhibition at Fillingdon Fine Art. So if, like me, you are UK bound, and can’t nip down to Newtown in the next fortnight, consider coming to sunny Buckinghamshire and enjoying the same standard of work in our tranquil surrounds.
