Description
A beautiful small original oil painting of dancers by classically trained artist Mary-Jane Alexander, who was born in Zimbabwe. Dancing was one of the artist’s first loves and when she first came to UK, her work was closely associated with the theatre, reflecting her deep interest in both actors and dancers. She has been fortunate enough to have worked with many dance companies over the years, including the English National Ballet, the Spanish Dance Society and Petra Siniawski’s Jazz Dance Company. Although mainly a landscape and still-life artist now, this recent work reflects her love of the female form and her talent for figurative painting.
