Description
One of four in a series of trace monotypes by experimental original print-maker Polly Hosp, who looks to nature to inspire her expressive wildlife art and who loves the unpredictability of her chosen medium.
This is a trace monotype on Zerkall paper, which is a one-off print using a thin film of rolled out ink. A sheet of paper is laid over the ink film and a pencil or pen drawing is made (see sample image). Where the pencil presses the paper against the tacky ink below, the ink is picked up and transferred. When the paper is peeled back the reverse print is revealed. The resulting marks are unique to the process and have a beautiful fuzzy quality.
