Description
An almost translucent abstract bird by creative and highly respected Zimbabwean stone sculptor Tago Tazvitya in a special piece of agate.
The bird is preening, thereby maintaining its outer appearance. It turns its head and looks inside, representing an inner focus and finding a calm inner peace.
Tago explores different aspects of human nature through his sculpture, using his trademark storks as symbols.
Since he recently survived a life-threatening condition, Tago has a new emphasis on health and wellbeing in his work. He used to be the kind of person who rushed about all day every day with myriad demands on his time. He now makes sure to find the time to rest, and to look after himself first.
“Someone checking in on themself. It is important to look after yourself, to nurture your inner beauty.”
