“It looks more grown up” was how one regular customer described our new-look gallery this last week.  That was a satisfying comment, as that was exactly the aim.  We have put away the toys.  That is not to say that all the work is exorbitantly expensive.  Cards range from £1.00; many beautiful pieces of jewellery and small ceramics are under £20.00, and even paintings start at £50.00; all original, exclusive and hand-selected. No, ‘grown up’ is not synonymous with price – it is an aura.  Soaring classical music filling the gallery; freshly brewed coffee while you browse; elegant couches to rest upon and first-hand knowledge and expertise at hand.  And most importantly, no purchase necessary to enjoy the array of talented work on display.

I had an unexpected call last month from the daughter of our old nanny in Zimbabwe; a woman I have not seen since she was a child.  She enquired about my parents and on my response that being in their 80’s they were of quite a significant age, she gave a satisfied sigh and said; “Oh, they are all grown up now!”  What a wonderful and refreshing view of pensioner status!  And thus it is with our gallery.  So I leave you with some images of it “all grown up”.
