“This piece is a celebration of the meerkat – one of Africa’s smallest yet most iconic animals. Despite its size, the meerkat embodies resilience, adaptability, and the strength found in community. Living in the harsh conditions of the Kalahari, these remarkable creatures survive through cooperation, vigilance, and deeply rooted family bonds. In this portrait, I wanted to capture both the curiosity and quiet determination that make the meerkat so captivating. Through delicate monochrome detail and a sense of stillness, the work reflects my admiration for the endurance of wildlife and the powerful connections that exist within the natural world.”
