Description
“Cheetah on the Hunt is an artistic study inspired by an encounter we were fortunate enough to have in the Masai Mara. Watching a cheetah moving through the open landscape, constantly scanning its surroundings for potential prey, offered a fascinating glimpse into the focus and patience required of one of Africa’s most specialised hunters.
There is a quiet intensity to a cheetah on the hunt. Every movement is deliberate, every pause an opportunity to assess what is happening around it. Before the speed and power that cheetahs are so well known for, there is this period of careful observation, patience and calculation.
In this piece, I wanted to capture that moment of stillness and concentration. The cheetah is alert and purposeful, looking beyond the immediate scene as it searches for its next opportunity.
Rather than focusing on the action of the chase, Cheetah on the Hunt explores the anticipation that comes before it, and the remarkable combination of instinct, patience and precision that makes the cheetah such a captivating animal to observe in the wild.”
