Sue van Rensburg has a degree in Fine Art (Ed) from Stellenbosch University, with a major in painting, and a Masters’ degree in Educational Philosophy (UWC).
She was drawn to ceramics, which provided a sculptural base for her decorated surfaces. All her plates and vessels are hand-made and different, in the interest of pursuing originality and individuality.
“I enjoy the tactile, organic sense of the clay, the imperfections that remind us of our humanity and connection to the earth”.
Sue has participated in several exhibitions, and received the Corobrik award for hand built ware.
She works from her studio in Franschhoek, in the beautiful winelands of the Cape.
