Lindsay Oldham

Lindsay is an experimental ceramic artist who lives and works at her beautiful home and studio in Mowbray, Cape Town, around the corner from her friend and fellow ceramicist Annelie Janse van Rensburg.

Inspired by her garden and local flora around her, Lindsay makes unique multi-stemmed vases and contemporary candelabra.

But her latest project are seed pods, designed to sit flat on a table, or hang, individually or in a group.

Usually working in rich cream clay and using just oxides to maintain the earthy image, she shuns shiny glazes and keeps these pieces to a matt finish as well.

The result are beautiful, tactile and organic shapes which fit comfortably in the palm of a hand.

Each pod is different and unique.
