Nada Spencer is a full-time ceramic artist living in Cape Town, South Africa. She has a passion for botanical drawings and texture on slab built pieces, often combining a variety of techniques.
She loves the freedom in ceramics to explore a variety of forming and decorating techniques. She views clay as a mouldable canvas, and draws inspiration from texture in nature and life drawing.
She makes both functional and decorative ceramics, ranging from large platters and wall installations, to small earrings and pendants. She loves the tactile nature of clay, and how people respond when they pick up and hold a piece.
She received her Bachelors in Architectural Studies from the University of Cape Town, but chose to pursue a different career after falling in love with clay.
Nada is currently very involved in Ceramics Southern Africa, and is passionate about supporting artists and promoting ceramics.
